Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa holds a special place for us, as it was my daughter's first movie at the theatre. Madagascar has been one of our favourite movies. My children and I have watched part 1 and 2 several times at home. We are excited to watch Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted in the theatre on June 8th.

When I knew Kinder® and DreamWorks® has partnered for this movie we were very excited. They have creatively come up with cute new collectible toys inside the Kinder chocolate. Kinder has a special edition 3 pack chocolate with 1 of the 3 toys guaranteed to be a Madagascar toy. We got a Madagascar toy and a cool Madagascar gadget inside this 3 pack. We have to buy more Kinder chocolates to collect all 5 gadgets and the 9 original Madagascar toys that assemble a fun circus themed train.
Starting June 6th Kinder® Canada Facebook page will have a promotion for 12 days where fans have a chance of wining 1 of 120 Cineplex® Family Passes to go see the movie and also 1 of 4 Grand Prize passes. Each Family Pass is valued around $76. It includes 2 adult general admissions and 2 children's admission. The passes also include 2 soft drinks and popcorn for the adults and 2 kids’ tray combos with a drink, popcorn and treat. I am guessing the treats in the kids' combo would be our favourite delicious Kinder chocolates:)

As many of you asked me about the type of lecithin Kinder uses; I contacted Ferrero Canada to clarify that Kinder uses only fresh and powdered milk, milk derivatives such as whey powder, butter and soy lecithin.

All Madagascar fans should own this fabulous book from DreamWorks: The Art of Madagascar 3. It is a fascinating book with colourful images that give details about the character design, development art and special effects in the movie. Every part of this book is entertaining including the foreword, which is hilarious. If you guys love these characters of Madagascar i.e. Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippopotamus and Melman the giraffe, then this book is a treasure. This book shows how the characters (humans and animals) are created using varied shapes and pushed proportions i.e. Alex is an inverted triangle with enormous paws. "When everything is cartoon-y, you accept Alex is a real lion" and since the characters don't look real we don't expect them to do realistic things.
We enjoyed looking at the initial drawings of the characters and scene. The drawings are vivid, detailed and colourful. This book is proof of the impressive work by the team at DreamWorks as they have put lots of thought creating these images. It is exciting for fans to hear about this process of the film. This book is available at Insight Editions, Amazon and Indigo. Now, we can't wait for the 8th to watch the movie.
